Dollars raised by Fore the Kids
Working to Combat the growing pediatric Mental Health crisis.
Fore the Kids Foundation has raised over $7 million since its partnership began with Children’s Mercy in 2009. In 2017, the establishment of the Nick’s Voice fund shifted the focus to address the growing mental health crisis in our community. Since then the foundation has been dedicated to educating our community about the signs, treatment, and therapy related to depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders affecting the mental health of our children.
In 2022 and 2023, Fore the Kids Foundation completed funding the Depression and Anxiety in Youth (DAY) clinic at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. Experts from psychology, psychiatry, social work, and nursing provide collaborative care through group therapy, individual therapy, and medication management for patients ages 12 to 17 with known or suspected depression and anxiety. Patients are treated for up to 12 months and then transition to community resources for ongoing support. The DAY Clinic opened in 2023 with a goal of making sure more young people are getting access to early intervention before it becomes a crisis.
