Nick Timmons Endowed Chair

Dr. Sarah Soden accepts the Chair position at Children’s Mercy, bringing research and innovation to the department.

Nick’s Voice

With a record breaking $900,000 donation, Fore the Kids Foundation allowed for the elevation of the Nick Timmons Endowed Chair in Developmental and Behavioral Sciences.

The Children’s Place

Fore the Kids donates $100,000 to The Children’s Place of Kansas City, allowing the organization to open two additional classrooms

2019

Nick’s Voice

Fore the Kids donates $746,967 to continue the growth of the Nick Timmons Endowed Professorship and school-based social worker program with Blue Valley.

The Children’s Place

Fore the Kids donates $70,000 to the Children’s Place of Kansas City. A center for children under the age of 10 who have suffered from trauma.

Endowed Professorship

Fore the Kids raises $609,380 for Children’s Mercy allowing for the creation of the Nick Timmons Endowed Professorship in Developmental and Behavioral Sciences.

School-Based Mental Health Initiatives

Through the Nick’s Voice Fund, Fore the Kids devoted its resources to enhancing a school-based mental health initiative between Children’s Mercy and the Blue Valley School District.

Nick’s Voice Fund – Mental Health Services

October 2017, Fore the Kids Foundation raised $456,829 for the Nick’s Voice fund with a goal to educate our community about the signs, treatments, and therapy related to mental health and dramatically decrease the suicide rates in Kansas City.

Fore the Kids suffered a loss of one of their own to suicide. Nick Timmons passing shifted the motivations of the foundation to mental health initiatives.

Two Ambulances

Partnering with the Automobile Dealers of Greater Kansas City, Fore the Kids raised $668,970. Enough money to purchase two additional ambulances for the hospital.

Ambulance

In 2015, the Fore the Kids Foundation purchased the first and only 24-hour a day, seven days a week transport ambulance dedicated to neonates, children, and adolescents.

Leo’s Place

Children’s Mercy dedicates a playroom in the cancer center to Fore the Kids family member, Leo Scott.

Canine Therapy

Children’s Mercy hired two therapy dogs with a $97,245 donation that provided comfort, motivation, and smiles to many kids in cancer and epilepsy departments

Blue Valley Sports Medicine Clinic

With a donation of $121,530, Fore the Kids helped fund the Children’s Mercy Blue Valley Sports Med. Clinic in Johnson County.

Child Life

Fore the Kids donated $105,400 to the Child Life Department at Children’s Mercy making the hospital experience easier and more comfortable for patients and their families.

All-In-One bedside Units

An additional $71,540 was donated to Children’s Mercy for more all-in-one bedside units in the burn unit, as well as Child Life Team inpatient units.

Who We Help

Fore the Kids Foundation strives to make an impact on the mental health of children ranging from toddlers to teens in  the Kansas City area. 

The Devastating Truth about Suicide:

  • More teenagers die from suicide than cancer, heart disease, AIDS, birth defects, stroke, pneumonia, influenza, and chronic lung disease, COMBINED.
  • 1 in 5 children and adolescents in our community will need to be evaluated for ADHD, depression, anxiety or other behavioral health diagnosis.
  • 15.04% of students have admitting to actually making a plan about how they are going to take their own life in 2016.
