Why This Matters
Not every solution runs through a hospital. Some of the best work happens in classrooms, on horseback, and in a room full of teenagers who trust each other.
Alongside our work with Children's Mercy, Fore the Kids funds community organizations across Kansas City that reach kids in ways a hospital cannot. Each one works a different corner of the same problem.
- Fight Club runs confidential peer support groups where teenagers can say what they are actually carrying, led by trained facilitators.
- Screen Sanity gives parents research-backed tools to help kids grow up healthy in a digital world.
- KidsTLC provides residential, outpatient, and family programs for mental and behavioral health, trauma, and autism, serving Kansas City since 1972.
- Heartland Therapeutic Riding uses equine-assisted therapy to build confidence and emotional growth for kids with disabilities.
- Just Like You Films makes documentary films that teach kids empathy for peers living with anxiety, depression, and other conditions.
